Damn, I really love the triplets running over this. It gives the whole track such a mood of unease and restlessness that's complimented by all of the layers of percussion. Half a star off because I felt like this was an idea that didn't really reach full maturity or potential for setting a creepy atmosphere. Some more variety, samples or switchups would have made this really pop.

Really digging this one. Very catchy and laid back. I really like the syncopation near the beginning. Overall everything just blends like crazy and stacks on top of itself like a musical geodesic dome. At like two points it seemed like the beat lost a little momentum but other than that this is really tight.

Could have sworn I reviewed this before. Flow and beat are nice as hell, sounds way too clean for a freestyle but still good, though very, very short.

Love the grittiness. Dark and mean all around.

S-Rock responds:

Thanks! I like the grit as well! much appreciated

Very nice, reminds me quite a bit of David Orr.

I see what people are saying as far as this missing something, and as far as I can tell it's that the sound doesn't feel organic enough. Some parts almost sound like trance while the rest is orchestral and it doesn't blend together very well. It could also use another layer or two of instrumentation to give it a little more bass to carry the seriousness of it.

Thanks for the review, much appreciated!

I'll certainly take the things you've said into consideration for my future productions. I've been working on my mixing skills for the last few months, so hopefully that'll fix some of the issues people mention with my music.

Quite good actually, but it needs more layers. Maybe a shuffashuffashuffa, vwoooow and some pew pew going on, aye? Also seemed to progress kind of randomly. I don't like repetition that much but the themes should be related to each other at least.

This has a sort of dark-room-with-swinging-light quality to it. Discordant and addictive as hell. Overall it could probably use a few switch-ups here and there but this is one of my favorite beats from you.

HeIsAlive responds:

Thanks man.

Yes, more wacky beats!! I will have to spit over this. Has more of a trace/rave feel to it than I usually like but it's good nonetheless.

The siren sounds like something out of Silent Hill. The spook factor is awesome and makes this all the more intense. Only thing that seemed off was the percussion felt kind of light and high-pitched compared to how discordant the rest of the track was. I'd like to see what it would have sounded like if it were a bit more muddy and distorted.

HeIsAlive responds:

Thanks man. Yeah, the siren gave me that same feeling of the Church Siren from Silent Hill.
I wish I could change this instrumental, so I could test out making it more grungy/muddy/distorted, but the FLP save file got corrupted from moving it around to different folders somehow.

I will keep this in mind when I make future instrumentals. Thanks for the C&C KWing, I appreciate it.

Fuck this goes hard. Loving the acid synth and that crunchy bass. Has a Cypress Hill spin on it too. I wish it were longer.
