[The Sunken Prophecy]

When I saw this had hit the frontpage I felt a little bad for skimming past it in my news feed. Wow!

This has a retro Final Fantasy feel to it - maybe VI or VII, with the beat reminding me a lot of Glass Fish Rhythm. Your background ambiance adds a really organic element that balances the chiptune incredibly well. It sounds a little like it runs out of steam maybe 2/3 of the way through but the mood is really mature and shows you're upping your game at a pretty steady pace.

I love how dark and serious this is. Perhaps a more muffled/muted sound would have given this an added layer of somberness but what you have here is already really good.

Lots of raw intensity and suspense here, with the track being all around pretty heavy. This would make an insane battle beat. This sound REALLY nice.

A couple of the notes don't really blend together harmoniously but for the most part this is sounds really good. Feels like the perfect beat for a story.

Yeah, making this beat was tough. I was going for a post WW2 vibe, with the tone that is suppose to mimic terror and uncertainty.

This beat kicks ass! I'm really digging the strings here (cello?) although it could have been a little more dominant amongst all the other sounds. Great freestyle material right here.

I'm really liking all the ambiance here! The arrangement sounds really full and complex without anything feeling awkward. Hot beat.

Something about this feels a little sloppy to me. The keyboard falls slightly off beat and the drum samples are reused too many times. It has a cool eerie feel to it but just doesn't feel complete to me.

Whew, this is really gloomy! The mood and feel is really on point but it seems a little too simple to me. Some scratching would have made this a bit more pleasant to listen to.

Thanks man. Yeah, it was meant to be simple, something to just kick back and listen to in the background. I sometimes listen to it while Im cleaning or playing a casual game, lol. I like to make simple beats just as much as I like making more complex ones. I just like to change it up sometimes, you know?

[HDC: K-Wing v Mao]

Can't believe this is over a year old now!

Ouch, I'm cringinging at my mic quality here but I'm really killing it with those double entendre name flips. Mao is Marxist, slipped him a Mickey, MJ Fox. Sheesh! Second verse is full of mediocre flips but the Jon Lajoie diss is strong and the plastic cup finisher is nice too.

Mickey dominated with the entertainment factor. The Parkinson's flip is hot. The Audacity diss is unfortunately relevant (lol.) The Vinstigator line still has me rolling. Minor point off for that awkward finisher. The second round rebuttals just feel so effortless here. Voted for me in all three, plus the hot air, static, crack on a donut and Black Moses lines just feel masterfully done, with three flips in the same rhyme scheme.

Looking back on this it seems really even to me. I can see I put Mao on the defensive but he played it really well and absorbed pretty much every hit. This was a really fun battle.

For some reason this reminds me of William and Sly, despite insane lag preventing me from ever finishing the game. The background ambiance makes this sound extremely cold, with the piano having kind of a snowy feel to it. Really nice work.
