Nice Job

The graphics could really use a redo. The author of Deux Ex Machina has his own style, Adam Phillips has his own style, Brad Borne has his own style... And you have your own as well, but you've worn it out quite a bit. With most great artists you can see the art progress through each episode. While you used to make each animation better and better, I get the feeling you've reached a certain plateau and it's time for you to move on. Mix up your style just a little bit and maybe give the characters longer limbs.

That aside, the animation is very good and the blender idea was rather colorful and unexpected. The blood is animated very well also, and the movements were realistic. The gag you put in at the end was so bad that you actually had to laugh at it.

Overall, I really appreciate the effort you've put into making this, but it was both old and samey.

'old and samey'

That's me, guy. Solid like a rock.

Epic

This whole thing is epic. The graphics are great and the lighting is as well, although perhaps the half-outline around the sticks could have faded a little to make the lighting effect more realistic. On top of that the expressions could have used a little work, and the movements, while smooth, looked kind of robotic. Some were too slow and a couple were too fast. Despite how smooth everything was it didn't look like there was a whole lot of easing going on. Also, some parts lagged. One particularly bad spot of animation was when the thief picked up the gem. That was pretty unrealistic looking, in addition to the fact that most of the time there's a device that notices if the weight put on the pedestal changes. Also I don't think the way he drew back the arrows was correct... I'm not an archer but I think I remember seeing how someone at a fare shot an arrow and it wasn't the way it was done in the animation.

The sound was good. The music was good, although the opening song by Dark Beats sounded like it was low quality. The voice acting was funny but the voices seemed to resonate rather oddly... Perhaps unrealistically, when compared to the background. One guy sounded like Peter Griffin, which was funny. I will say the last line was way too cheesy though.

The concept was good. The story was kind of basic, but I liked the dialogue, and the voice acting was more than decent. The style was badass and the powers the arrows had added a nice change to it.

Manfreak responds:

Thanks, that was a helpful review. I am totally aware of the movements on the sticks being robotic because I just didnt have time to add all the easing in. The shot of the thief picking up the gem annoys the hell out of me but I cbf fixing it after 8 months on this project. Also the way he draws back the arrow is correct. I did archery for a year at school and won 2nd place in a comp so I know its right. The problem is, that he doesnt have shoulders so he cant reach full draw distance properly.

Didn't Like It

The graphics and animation were pretty bad, but I have the feeling if it were better animated I might have enjoyed it less. The audio quality wasn't the highest; at some points a bit of white noise crept into it which was a bit annoying.

The concept itself gave me a headache... It was stupid and spastic and not particularly funny. I get you were going for some kind of surrealist take on it, but it was just overdone. You don't seem to know where to stop... I found myself more annoyed than entertained, and the few times I did laugh was more because of something abstract and random than something that flowed into the storyline.

It just didn't do it for me.

Good

The graphics were simple but good, the blur effects were nice and well-thought out, and the proportions weren't obnoxious (like a few anime movies). Overall the animation was good.

The audio was also great. Loved the British accent, also high quality and great timing.

The storyline started good but got old fast. While it is a cartoon, it's somewhat resemblant of a 5 year old's elaborate story that swells with time. I loved the rock, and the mustard gas made me laugh, but after that it just went downhill and the plotline wasn't quite as graceful.

47times responds:

Thanks for the review, and just to let you know, I'm Australian, not British.

Funny

Great graphics... I had no idea of what you were capable of via computer graphics, never seen realism like that from you before! Fun audio, great animation, very funny alternate Madness episodes. It was a bit short though. And why'd you rate it for nudity?

Luis responds:

theres a picture of boobs on the hentai banner when he is using the search.

Funny

Two points off because it was absolutely terrible, but I'll give you 8 for the entertainment value.

kenny responds:

thanks, lol

it is terrible... but at least you found it funny :3

Nice!

Great professionalism in it! The intro was kind of cool, and the buttons worked very nicely. The artwork was incredible, though you could have used a few gradients to make a lighting effect. The style was... Interesting to say the least. I did get a chuckle out of it, though, make no mistake. Very strange animation altogether. Didn't bother with the Easter Eggs (sorry). All in all it was a modest little film. Just add some gradients and maybe some more graphic-intensive animation (smoother movement, well-lit scenes of excessive motion, etc.) and you'll have a great film. Maybe some blurring for fast movement, and some of those squiggly dot styles for pupils. All in all, great effort! (Also, I don't review hentai, so I don't care how much you beg, I'm not reviewing your first submission).

Psychopath responds:

lol thanks! I couldn't care if you reviewed my hentai anyway, it get's too much attention anyway's lol.

Neat

Graphics were drawn pretty well, but could have used some background elements, like a moving fan, having them breathe, or maybe a blurred cloud passing by outside of a window. Sound was nice quality and you didn't sound like a four-year old, congrats. Nice little message, although a few squiggly animations have actually been better than others. All in all, it was pretty good, but could have used a bit more animation.

fluffkomix responds:

i know i know. ive been trying to brush up on my visual elements for a while, but end up getting lazy and forgetting all about them.

Oh My God

Making it longer is the last thing you need to do. The sound was just your terribly annoying voice, which actually wasn't so bad, but the elongated tone you gave everything made it worse than nails on a chalkboard. The graphics were terribly drawn stick men in paint, recorded with some video device that produces SWFs. There wasn't even any animation; it was just like some horribly done and unoriginal comic book that had worse graphics than any I'd ever seen before. No interactivity, no violence, practically negative style. The humor was present, but there was about as much in the Flash as the width of a toenail, and it got old very fast. Suffice to say, you really need to work on your skills.

StickyStikFilms responds:

hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

It was actually made in AppleWorks ;)
