Hideously Overrated

I'm giving you a 7 because as cheesy and overdone as the plotline is, the graphics, animation, sound, and overall technical quality of your Flash are still amazing.

However, I would like to point out what went wrong with the storyline. The viewer is faced with a small boy hearing his parents argue so trivially it seems as if the parents are toddlers. The whole opening sequences is grossly overdone and anybody who is touched by it will not understand that too much effort was put into trying to make it touching or depressing. It's, in one word, corny.

The rest of the movie is silent, and still yields meaning successfully, and the end looping over the way it did was kind of fascinating, but, all stacked together, this short was not very entertaining at all.

I Liked It...

And if you say 'that's what she said' I will rip your guts out. It was a pretty fun little movie, not too funny, not to original, but it was still a little fun to watch.
Graphics: 7/10, they were pretty simplistic, putting aside the sprites. You could have used more gradients, although the tweening was pretty nice.
Sound: 7/10, the usage was minimal, and Speakonia or a microphone would have been nice.
Style: 10/10, not your average 'Crapperware' sprite movie. It had good length, was comprehensible, although some things were misspelled. Pretty good, though. A bit of it was kind of cheesy though.
Humor: 7/10, a few snickers here and there, not overly excessive, but not quite enough, either.

Meh...

It's very smooth, but it's way too short, the graphics aren't yours (not a bad thing, but it lessens the movie's redeeming quality), and I can say the same about the sounds. Bleh, it's okay, the animation is great, and it's a great start, but it does NOT have enough in it. And yes, I see that it's in the Experimental genre. Yes, I know it's a short, but it's short for a short.

Good!

But I still think Hasting and Tempering my Master would have taken Bahamut down. One time, she hit over 5000 on Chaos. Even so, I'll begin my review:
Graphics: Animation and graphics were both great; a good anime style, very smooth movement, and a great imitation of Final Fantasy! 10/10
Sound: It was in Japanese, so I didn't understand a word of it. Still, the subtitles were great. Good background music, too. Accurately placed jingles. Also to note: Nice quality, nothing too repetitive, good job! 10/10
Interactivity: VOID. The play button worked, but really, it's a movie. 0/0
Style: Based after Final Fantasy, presented well, humorous, and had a defined exposition, plot, climax, and resolution. Very good indeed! 10/10
Violence: Nothing too gory, but the conflict was done well enough that it really didn't have to be. 8/10
Humor: Nothing boisterously funny, but a few chuckles, and above all, it was an intriguing movie to watch. The accuracy of the references was worth a few chuckles through the duration of the film.
Overall: Great job! I really enjoyed it! 10/10

Fun

Graphics: 9/10 - Simple, yet effective and comical graphics. Great animation, smooth, natural-looking tweens.
Sound: 10/10 - Top-notch, as always. Naturally, as an Alt+F4/Lemon Demon/Trapezoid production, it is a music video, and the music is great. High-quality, good tune, comical message.
Interactivity: VOID - Just the play buttons and such. They worked accordingly.
Style: 10/10 - Great presentation and art style, defined style of comical mischief.
Violence: 8/10 - Comical, cartoonish violence. I personally don't think that violence should be an aspect used to judge the quality of the submission, but it was pretty well rounded in this submission.
Humor: 9/10 - Quite funny the first few times around, but gets old eventually. Still, an epic win.
Overall: 10/10 - As stated in the above, it has great ingredients, all compiled in the right places. This movie made history, and for good reason.

Room for Improvement

I appreciate the subtitles, especially as you are not a native speaker of English or Spanish. However, i feel some things could have been better. While the graphics were good, as always, the black and white theme seemed a little off. I noticed that the scarves, among a few other things, are in color. However, I feel that if it was primarily a black and white enviornment, colored things should only be those that are interpreted to be an important element to the scheme of the animation. Additionally, the beginning seemed to make no sense in context to the other episodes. As always, the animation was very smooth, with a few bumps. As it was an animation, interactivity can barely be an aspect, but the option of subtitles was done very smoothly and in an unobstructive manner. I have no idea why you chose the audio track that you did. Perhaps the melody and rhythm somewhat fit the storyline of the series, but the lyrics certainly didn't, and that was all that was portrayed by the subtitles. Still, good quality, no flaws. The style and presentation was exceptional; the credits weren't cheesily short, the menu was made with care. No violence or humor, but there wasn't intended to be. Overall, not the best I've seen. I can see you put effort into this, and that you are a good animator. However, you are still growing, despite what most of the reviewers may think. The lightheartedness of the art style, events, and music did not fit the seriousness of the plot and how it went into the theme of segregation and racism. A movie like Fallen Angel, per say, had a clearly intense plotline accompanied by vivid graphics, intense sound effects, and much action and motion to express and emphasize the intensity of the entire feature. Overall, this could have been way better.
