Kind of Boring?

Seeing as I only watched this because it was on the front page, I'm not familiar with the Miss Dynamite series, so this is a little new to me. Nonetheless I'll do what I can to review this.

The first thing I noticed was that the graphics are ace. They have their own cartoony style and the comic book flashbacks, graphics, and frame by frame animation were GREAT. Unfortunately, certain animation things such as the lip syncing hand their own quirks which annoyed the hell out of me.

The camera angles and the presentation were great, and the voice acting was damn good, except for the 'changed' Eva. I feel like the voice for her when she was drugged was really overdone and a little more subtlety would have sufficed and done a better job.

As for the story, I never actually laughed out loud at all. There may have been one or two times where I thought something was mildly funny, but as a whole this did not amuse me.

I'm not sure where you're going with this, but as a standalone episode this was kind of boring. Even if I had seen the rest of the series, I think this episode seemed like mostly filler to me. You really have to rattle the viewer, either with really good humor or really dramatic scenes.

Better than Most Egoraptor Submissions

I'll admit, the instant I clicked this I was hoping to give a poor review slamming on how this was probably a ripoff of Amanda Byne's skit produced at least six years ago. When I saw Egoraptor made it, I almost didn't watch. But I did, so here's my review.

The characters are a lot more spastic than AB's original skit, and the drama seemed to have been taken a little further. That was good... Until the point where he started yammering about 'simmering'. At that point it got a little old and annoying. By the time his arm got torn off it was just stupid... But I'll admit the ending gag was great, mostly because the voice and music were timed perfectly.

And... That's it? I found the animation to be pretty short, all in all. The animation is decent, the graphics are well-done, but after watching the whole thing through it doesn't look like you put much work into it. Nonetheless the script could have been a lot worse, and this is better than your usual stuff. Dramatic, overdone, and cheesy, but it still does it's job and it's worth watching.

Funny

The graphics are great, although a little rough. Perhaps the smoothing tool could have come in handy. The animation was smooth but pretty simple. The voice acting was very good... The plot was okay. I got a good laugh out of it, but there wasn't a whole lot to it. Overall it was a fun skit, but needs far more jokes.

Huh

The graphics were pretty decent. The color scheme had pretty high contrast, although that fit the style of the video game thing going on. The story was kind of lacking though. It seemed to have no point. The voice acting was pretty bad, and the jokes became almost tedious. I'll still give you a 7 because the graphics were pretty good and the animation was interesting and worked out well.

Great Graphics, Poor Dialogue

Wow. From the sidebar I knew I was gonna be in for something. Master-Samus, creator of the incredible Killing Spree series. A great artist and somewhat of an acquaintance PixelCake... Over 22 MB and Daily 3rd award... I thought to myself this has got to be good.

Let's see... A nerd finishing a video game... The graphics are pretty good, although the contrast could have been upped a bit. Both the tweening and frame-by-frame animation are good, although the quality seemed to fluctuate from around a 7/10 to a 10/10. The different artists show their distinct styles which was a nice touch and provided good variation. Good voice acting, although the storyline seems to progress slowly despite how quick some of the dialogue is.

The first real problem I noticed was in the humor. Nothing was radical enough to get me to laugh out loud until the "lucky hero gene" line. That was several minutes into the animation. While the storyline was fine, the dialogue itself wasn't that humorous. Much of the time I found myself only slightly amused by it. When Sarah dressed up as an elf, for instance, I found myself wincing rather than laughing, although I did enjoy the turn-based battle scene. I just didn't see anything THAT funny though. The concept was so ridiculous it couldn't have been a drama or action flick, yet nothing made this Flash very humorous. There are tons of video game facts that could have made this game funny... For instance, these video game facts I put in a thread a long time ago:

-You can have the same state of health as someone in a vegetative state, yet still be able to run, attack, and jump with the same performance as you could when you had full health.
-If you see your path blocked by a pit and there's a big tall rock hanging on the edge of the pit, just kill a bunch of enemies. The rock will soon fall over the pit, creating a perfectly stable bridge for you to cross over.
-People don't generally bother with putting grates over air vents; they make sure that the openings are big enough for an ottsel or any small mammal to fit through.
-If you're controlling a large party of people, nobody will ever have disagreements; just tell them what to do, and they'll follow your orders blindly.
-If a video game premise is 'Help <Insert Name Here>,' understand that you're not helping them with what they need to do; you're just doing the whole job for them, even if you have to look like them for a while.
-Even if you're walking on foot, you can still manage to carry dozens of swords, shields, and somehow inexplicably, cottages and tents.
-Although a corridor may appear empty, taking a few tentative steps can cause an explosion, and when the debris clears, you'll find yourself in full battle armor, surrounded by up to nine enemies that weren't there seconds before.
-Even though taking a single step can result in an enemy appearing from nowhere and attacking you, you can still pitch a tent without any danger of an enemy appearing. Furthermore, you'll be safe the entire night.
-An enemy such as a wolf, with little use of Gil, Gold, Credits, or Coins, will still carry enough of it for you to purchase a finely fashioned sword.
-Even if a creature is carrying a staff that can instantly kill you, they won't try to use it against you, even though you can kill them and use the staff yourself.
-Surprisingly once you have 999,999 Gil, even though monsters still carry more Gil, you are supernaturally unable to pick up any more.

Certain gags like that are what this Flash just begged for, yet it lacked any of the truthful humor about modern video gaming. The concept was good, the animation was fantastic, the voice acting was superb and the graphics were stylish, but the execution was somewhat poor. As a result, the finished project made the storyline turn out to be terribly bland. The graphical quality was still very good though, and for that I'm giving you guys an 8.

So Good!

I love it! The animation is silky smooth and the whole style is executed PERFECTLY! The music and the red displays match up extremely well. I also liked the proportions of the stick figures. Your later animations have lankier sticks, but I like the smaller, more robust proportions you used for this demo. The motions weren't as smooth as some of your other work, but I actually liked this a lot because of the way it was shot and how the angles worked out. The only thing I found kind of weird was how big his head was at the beginning. I noticed you were doing some perspective stuff, but even with perspective, FLLFLL's head seemed out of proportion.

Pretty Good

The graphics are good. Not overly detailed, but the color scheme and the art style were what really jazzed it up. The animation was simple at some points, but at other points it was really good. What the animation seemed to lack was proper timing. While the shots were timed well, the animation within them didn't really display anything of the sort. Constant things such as liquid effects worked well, but I didn't see much easing in it.

The sound was definitely the high point of the animation. The music synced with the animation very well and the score was composed masterfully. The only thing I didn't like was the way the old robot was talking during the music near the beginning. It sounded like the robot was trying to talk with rhythm, but it failed and the combination distracted from the rest of it. I found it hard to understand what he was trying to say in some parts. Other than that the voice acting and music were great.

The story was good, although the comic relief wasn't that funny nor did it really enhance the animation at all; rather, it just detoured from the rest of it. The story was pretty interesting but for the amount of work put into it, not much actually happens. The jar at the end wrapped up the animation very nicely, but the rest of it seemed so bland to me.

Funny

The main character's insanity made the whole skit surrealistic. The beginning was decent, the middle was mediocre, and the end pulled it all together pretty nicely. Overall, considering the length of the skit, there could have been more jokes, but I still got a good laugh out of it.

Once upon a time, water taught itself how to feel pain.
