Really chill, I really like how much energy there is in this for how gentle it is. A lot easier on the ears than a lot of your other stuff.

bryce responds:

whoops, damn, i usually try to make my music hard on the ears. glad you liked it anyway. won't happen again! :o)

Awesome, everything blends together really well. Sounds kind of like a blend of Nirvana and Korn. Really digging the main guitar melody, keep it up!

This seems kind of different from your usual stuff, which was why I felt compelled to write a review for it. I can see why you listed it as hip hop, although personally it sounds almost like ambiance to me, what with how the music just sounds like sheets of sound coming at you. I could totally see this in a Silent Hill game, it totally makes me think of an abandoned, foggy town. I wish it looped.

bryce responds:

well it's more downtempo but newgrounds has a very limited number of genres so hip hop is the closest

I always hate reviewing demo reels and collabs just because it's kind of hard to touch on specific elements of tracks - especially when you don't get to hear the entirety of any of them. Still, you've got some great stuff here!

DavidOrr responds:

That's totally understandable -- and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! Demo reels are a necessary evil in this biz, as often times a prospective client will only give you a few seconds to deem whether or not they like your music. For the general listener though, they can be a little ... disorienting.

Pretty good, I love the relaxed tune to this. I can't help thinking of drinking alone in some dingy bar when I hear it. A few things with the timing seem a little bit inconsistent, but overall I think it adds to the lazy, relaxed mood of the song.

Gosh, this is really nice. Flows really smoothly, and when I finally realized what this song was missing I was genuinely shocked. This needs lyrics! I really wonder what they would be about, but any singing done over this would be a perfect 10 from me.

On an unrelated note, what's up with all the food in your song names?

ShinsukeIto responds:

Thanks as always Kwing, for taking the time to review!
I would have added lyrics, but I can't sing at all :c
As for what the lyrics would be, there are so many options...

About the food names; The first few times I just typed in the last thing I ate before uploading, and now it's just a 'thing' I do, I guess... heh not much meaning at all really ^U^;

Nice work here. The bass is a little quiet, which is really a shame because you could have made this seriously jazzy. As it is, it's still good, but the pitch just seems so high without anything 'grounding' it, which makes it seem a little bit incomplete to me.

ShinsukeIto responds:

Thanks for your review as always, Kwing!
I will take what you said into consideration :)

edit: Perhaps you were on a mobile device, because they limit audio frequency to reduce filesize

Nice and heavy, I'm loving it! The drums in particular sound really varied and it shows with the rest of the 'song'. Only issue is how damn short it is, I literally tried to pause it at the end just to keep it from ending. Instead I clicked a tiny bit too late and ended up replaying the song (not a bad alternative).

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Haha, cool. Glad you dig it...was short on purpose. Glad you like the drums, I am finally, very happy with them as well. :)

Cheers for the review, man.

Excellent piece! Sounds like a town theme song for a game. If i didn't know any better I would have thought this came from one of the great composers!

I have to take half a star off just because this theme feels a little -too- gentle. Some kind of rich, lower harmony would have grounded the overall sound better. Still, I really enjoy it as is!

richivinsky responds:

Responding 10 years too late, but just want to say thank you, and I'm glad you enjoyed this piece of mine :)

Reminds me of Extasick. Nobody knows about the band, but the style is very similar, although not quite as loud and staticy. Maybe if this were a little louder and more in-your-face this would really drive home, but as it is the synthetic sound deserves more aggression than the quietness you gave to this.

Once upon a time, water taught itself how to feel pain.
