This sounded way too much like Oh Come All Ye Faithful, lol. Soaring melodies are kind of nice, but the lack of dynamics and progression make this feel a little too mindless for my taste.

Fair point, I might be doing my best to improve in my production and melodic structures. However, I am still working toward improving the level of dynamics and progression. I consider this track to be a step up, though I do see your point with regard to some of the mindless elements of my track as well. I'm biased to my own track obviously, well noted and thanks for the feedback to help me improve ^.^
The sound quality and effects are really nice. I also really dig the somberness of this piece. Main criticism would be that it's rather slow and simple, and for something like this it makes sense not to have lots of complex melodies, but you could have done a lot more with chords just to introduce some kind of complexity.
Thank you for your review. Originally the track was much faster, however, I felt that it didn't quite fit in with the vibe of a rainy day in autumn. I guess I should have left the speed alone! I will take your constructive words and use them to better myself as a composer.
The bass sounds a little muddy to me, but other than that this sounds pretty nice. The ambient style is relaxing for sure, and the keys are quite nice. The piano isn't terribly repetitive, but some changeups in tempo or energy would have been kind of nice. Still though, the mixing is probably my biggest gripe.
I think you have a point - mixing has admittedly never been my strong suit... I might've gone a bit overboard with the reverby/ambience sound.
Anyway, thank you very much for the constructive criticism! :)
Aside from the mood (which I liked a lot,) I think having a swing rhythm would have made this a lot better. Something about the mixing also sounds a little weird to me - it sounds like your backing track had the highs turned down, and while I get that this can sometimes be a nice aesthetic choice, in this particular song it just didn't sound good to me. I also think faster decay on the notes would have made the track sound quieter and contributed to a calming feeling.
Ow, Thanks for your comment
i'll keep it in mind. it's good that you liked the song
The first half of this was pretty blah, but in the section at 1:30 you started layering the different parts and I found that quite nice to listen to. All in all pleasant to listen to, but I would have liked a bit more anticipation/buildup.
I'll make sure to look into that :)
I really liked the intro, but the transition afterward was confusing - sounded like a different song at first. This sounds good but timbre can only take you so far. There's not a whole lot of variety going on in terms of either the melody or drums, and those awkward transitions really start to add up (you've got like four of them.)
At this point I can only say I'm experimenting with new styles. I didn't really know what to put in this song because it wouldn't fit. Either way, thanks for the feedback.
I think it's interesting that you have swing in a marching song. It makes things sound a lot less steady and domineering than you'd expect, and it has a bit less energy, too. I don't feel like the slow laziness was intended, otherwise you probably would have played to your strengths and made it more decisively slow. As it is, the tone of this song seems kind of inconsistent.
Thank you for your review.
It seems as though I need to work on clarity and consistency of tone.
I will take that into account and try to improve in the future.
Looking at the waveform before playing this, it looked like there was going to be a lot of variety. And there was... Kind of. In many ways this feels more like a sound showcase than a song due to the lack of transitions. The sounds are decent, but there's no flow and hence not much of a song.
Thanks for the feedback, this was one of the first Dubstep oriented songs that we have made and from the get go this was driven to be more repetitive just to experiment with different loops
