Wow. This was really, really nice to listen to. Relaxing, mellow, and all the sounds feel really tasteful.

It does drag on a little and is generally kind of mindless, but I can definitely feel a sort of trance state when I listen to this.

I really liked the intro, but the transition afterward was confusing - sounded like a different song at first. This sounds good but timbre can only take you so far. There's not a whole lot of variety going on in terms of either the melody or drums, and those awkward transitions really start to add up (you've got like four of them.)

Red65 responds:

At this point I can only say I'm experimenting with new styles. I didn't really know what to put in this song because it wouldn't fit. Either way, thanks for the feedback.

This was really fun to listen to. Good samples and overall pleasant sounds, with lots of energy. A tiny bet repetitive at some points, but there are enough layers that it feels like you can pick up different things with each repetition.

I really want to like this, but it's so damn simple. Between the harsh dubsteppy noises and drums, there's not a whole lot else going on, which leads to this feeling very repetitive. The bagpipe-esque instrument (I know it's some kind of string instrument but the heaviness to the sample you're using sounds more like bagpipes anyway) at 1:50 is dope, I wish you'd incorporated it for more of the track. Another instrument or two and this would have felt a lot fresher.

Wow, lots and LOTS of different sounds here! I also like your use of silence - sometimes it's all about what you don't hear. Sounds a bit like Igorrr or UnexpecT without the metal. The energy and uniqueness would make this good for a rave or some niche performance art like fire dancing.

I think it's interesting that you have swing in a marching song. It makes things sound a lot less steady and domineering than you'd expect, and it has a bit less energy, too. I don't feel like the slow laziness was intended, otherwise you probably would have played to your strengths and made it more decisively slow. As it is, the tone of this song seems kind of inconsistent.

Novent-Music responds:

Thank you for your review.

It seems as though I need to work on clarity and consistency of tone.
I will take that into account and try to improve in the future.

The chiptune part of the second half is very harsh compared to the rest - I think this would have sounded better if you had used the same synth for both halves and switching up the composition rather than the instrument.

As others have said, the intro is nice and builds. There's some good variety here, though the mood is quite laid back. Overall a well-done track but not particularly exciting.

As something to bump in the background, it's fine. Listening actively, it's not terribly groundbreaking, but it is done well, mainly on the side of the audio engineering. Like most things I've reviewed recently, the melody is good but the song doesn't really have a form (eg. AABA, ABACABA, etc.)

Looking at the waveform before playing this, it looked like there was going to be a lot of variety. And there was... Kind of. In many ways this feels more like a sound showcase than a song due to the lack of transitions. The sounds are decent, but there's no flow and hence not much of a song.

MattHatterXYZ responds:

Thanks for the feedback, this was one of the first Dubstep oriented songs that we have made and from the get go this was driven to be more repetitive just to experiment with different loops
