hand drawn shading > no shading > gradient

I want to make the graphic style more consistent with Moovlin PC. Sure, I could have done something really neat with the leaves and such, but if I had, would you be able to tell these are the same trees from Sunshine Plains?

To be honest with you man, you should hire an artist to work with you on Moovlin PC 2, because the first game was great when it came to gameplay, but lacked in the graphics department. Just a suggestion, because Moovlin II can be so much more than it will be if you hire an excellent artist. Good luck with all future endeavors.

We'll see.

Think of most games with notable sequels. How many of them avoided graphical improvement in order to be consistent with the first game?

Food for thought.

Also to tell you more directly, the gradient shading looks just plain bad.

Hmm, I really don't see it. Sure, it's not that subtle, but it looks cartoony and it works.

woaaah wait waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat

Nothing, nothing.

Oh, snap.

Yeah, I've fussed around with the gradients and made them shaded. It was rather tough to do with something as cartoony as this, but it definitely looks better. I'll upload an updated one later.

do not want! o_O

You don't like zombie trees?
